The latest Junior Congress took place during half-term, and this had an impact on the number of children who took part in the latest junior congress. Nonetheless, 50+ children took part across four sections, with the top section being expanded from the usual all-play-all format to a standard Swiss.

Winner of the top Rooks Section was Leon Kesiak, closely followed by Eyad and Natalie.

The Bishops section was won by Michael Toncik, who stormed to a 6/6 start, losing in the final round but still had enough to finish ahead of Marcus and Riley.

The Knights section was won by Luke Maughan, with an impressive 7/7 score, closely followed by Raul who finished with 6/7.

The Pawns made up the final section, and this was won by Adam Riahi with an impressive 7/7 score, followed by Matthew and Vivaan on 5/7.

Between rounds, the children had access to two coaches who had given up their time to pass on their knowledge. We had many helpers running the sections, and the door admin. Our thanks to everyone!

Special thanks to Our Ladies and St Edwards for the excellent venue.
