Following the Open section at the Blackpool Congress, we will look at the lineup in the other sections on Sunday. The top 12 boards are being broadcast live.

My pick from Round 2 is the game with GM Mark Hebden playing as black. No major shocks from Round 2, which means we should get some juicy match up’s in the latter rounds.

Round 3 saw both IM’s paired against each other. They played out a draw. Once again, the game being showcased is from GM Mark Hebden, this contains nice finish with forced mate on the board, with Black “technically” up in material.

After Round 3 has completed, we are set up for an interesting final day. GM Mark Hebden and Adithya Vaidyanathan in the lead with 3/3, with 10 in the chasing pack on 2.5/3.
