We have launched a YouTube channel for junior chess players. The aim of which will be to bring additional coaching content suitable for Lancashire Junior Chess players.
Putting training videos out via the YouTube channel means that we do not need to incur additional hosting and bandwidth charges by hosting content on the webpage. We will still post content on the website, but the YouTube channel allows us to be a bit more creative and interactive.
The link to the new channel is Lancashire Chess Juniors YouTube
The material on the channel will be “Made for Kids”. This means the channel will provide a safe environment for children, as it automatically disables comments. The downside to this is that we don’t get any feedback on what is good and what is bad.
This is also a new venture for us, so a steep learning curve. You will see this in the first couple of videos, where we used AI voiceovers. As we get better with the technologies and the video editing techniques, the videos will (we hope) improve. For now, there are occasional synchronisation issues with the screen and voice. As we are not actors, some scripts will have occasional long pauses and misspoken words. Rather than do multiple takes, we do everything in one take. So mistakes are there for all to see. Hopefully, we will get better, and this does not distract too much from the content.
The latest upload is below. It would help the channel if you give the video a thumbs up and subscribe.
