Lancaster Congress
Lancaster Congress 15th – 17th August 2025
This year the entire congress will be FIDE and ECF rated. As last year the Open and Major section games will be uploaded onto public databases.
We are pleased to say that we are back where we started – at The Storey which is in the heart of the city. For international visitors why not make a nice holiday out of it. Lancaster is a historic city and also close to the English Lake District. The venue is opposite the Castle.

Prize fund £2,750 subject to entries plus additional prizes subject to sponsorship.
Sections and prizes
- Open – First £700, second £250, third £100. Grading prize £50 U2100.
- Major – U1900 First £300, second £150. Grading prize £50 U1800
- Intermediate – U1750 First £300, second £150, Grading prize £50 U1620
- Minor First U1500 £300, second £150. Grading prize £50 U1200
- In addition there will be three £50 diversity prizes. One for the best score by a female player, another for the best score by an under 16 year old and the third for the best score by an over 65 year old.
