This year there the format is slightly different for the Team Rapidplay event, where we will run the tournament as a single closed event Rapidplay and the Team Champion will be determined by the aggregate score of the top scoring 4 players for the affiliated club they select when entering.
There will be a small prize fund, with trophies this year, with all profits being invested back into County Chess Teams. We were successful last season in qualifying for the national finals, and one our teams just fell short in the semi-final. This was a great result for Lancashire we slowly build up Country Chess again after the Covid fiasco where the LCA came very close to going out of existence due to the frozen accounts. Fortunately, all that is behind us. A new team at the helm, and we need your support and help to continue.
How can you help? Well in two ways. Firstly, consider giving County Chess a chance and express your interest! We need to build up a list of players who will play to determine what teams we can enter for next season.
Secondly, enter this tournament, get us to the maximum entry level, and you will not only be playing 6 graded rapidplay games, have a chance of winning a small cash prize, but you will be helping out County Chess for the future.

CLOSED TOURNAMENT – This is a closed tournament, only players who reside in Lancashire (Lancashire postcode as per Post Office) or are registered with an affiliated club can enter this tournament.
